The Truth About the Kitchen Blender

I will just be honest here.

I think any kitchen that doesn't have a blender is not a complete kitchen. I can't imagine life without my blender. I use it to make daily smoothies, grate food, make whipped cream and of course to make my masterpiece strawberry daiquiris.

There are many styles of blenders to choose from including electric, gas, immersion, cordless, portable, battery operate, hand, mini, stick, and the stainless steel model. You simply need to investigate and find the best fit for you and your kitchen.

Every style of blender will come with attachments that you can use for varied purposes. Obviously some take up more counter space than others while some are made to be attractive fixtures on your countertop.

So the first thing you need to do is ascertain the purpose for your blender. Do you want a serious blender like you see in a coffee house or just something to use occasionally. Will you use it for large amounts of food or just creating treats for yourself? When you answer these questions, you should have a great idea of what kind of blender you will need.

Secondly, decide if you want a hand blender of stand blender. A hand blender is used for small amounts of blending while the stand blender is more of the traditional stand alone machine where you push a button. These are used for heavier loads.

Thirdly, check your financial situation. Blenders can range for $30-$400. Although being expensive doesn't guarantee the best quality, in most cases you truly do get what you paid for.

Fourth, make sure you examine the features of your desired blender. Settings you should check are speed settings, pulse button, capacity, wattage, glass or plastic, size of blender, cord storage, and warranty. Get an idea of what your specifics are for the features and don't settle for less.

Blenders are a great invention. I am not sure how I would make it without mine. Research carefully before buying but for goodness sake, get out there and buy one!
