Many people have heard of the Vitamix blender: one of the most raw food appliances, and are curious about how it works and the benefits of owning one. In this article you'll learn the benefits of owning one and whether the Vitamix blender is right for you.
I've used a Vitamix for 6 years and still use and love mine. The Vitamix blender isn't an ordinary blender. For example, it has a 2-peak HP motor. If you've ever gone to your favorite smoothie bar or watched a professional cooking competition on T.V. chances are you've probably seen one before. The Vitamix blender is so powerful that professionals use it because it can easily blend foods that a regular home blender might not be able to. If you are a chef or even just an enthusiastic home cook, this means that your sauces, salad dressings, and soups are going to have a perfectly smooth and silky consistency.
Love smoothies? The Vitamix blender can easily crush ice and frozen fruits to make professional looking frozen fruit smoothies and is powerful enough that it can easily make a fresh fruit sorbet out of frozen fruit and few other ingredients.
Love homemade vegetable soup? The Vitamix will easily blend your favorite vegetables and broth into a hot soup with no extra cooking required. This is because the friction created from the Vitamix's spinning blades will heat up the blended vegetable soup if blended for long enough.
Want to make your own flour for baking? If you purchase the dry blade it can easily grind different grains to make fresh homemade flour. It is also amazing at grinding flax and chia seeds, no spice grinder required. It has never been easier to add fiber rich flax seed powder into your diet.
If you really want to take your health to the next level you can start vegetable juicing. The Vitamix's motor is so strong that it will blend vegetables such as chopped carrots with some water. You can then strain the blended carrots and you have carrot juice without a juicer!
8 years ago I adopted a healthy vegetarian diet and and I can't imagine being able to maintain my healthy lifestyle without my Vitamix. In the morning I use it to make my husband and I green smoothies with fruits and leafy greens such as spinach and kale. The Vitamix has no problem blending the leafy greens while other, less powerful blenders, leave unappetizing large pieces of the greens floating in the smoothie. Yuck!
For lunch I might make a blended tomato soup in my Vitamix with tomatoes, bell pepper, garlic, olive oil, cayenne pepper, and salt. I blend it until it is just warm, no need to heat it up on the stove.
For dinner I might make an amazing creamy non dairy dressing in my Vitamix consisting of pine nuts, olive oil, lemon juice, water, garlic, and salt. It is so creamy that you don't even miss the dairy!
For dessert I might make a non dairy dessert in the Vitamix such as a vegetarian cheesecake made out of blended soaked cashews and honey!
The Vitamix is the ultimate in blending and pureeing and lends itself nicely to a healthy lifestyle.
